About Kapilash Chess
A lasting home for chess in Lakhimpur Kheri
Kapilash Chess is the chess wing of Kapilash Foundation, based in Gola Gokaran Nath, District Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh.
We organise FIDE and AICF rated tournaments, encourage local talent, and work alongside the Lakhimpur District Chess Association to build a strong chess community across the district. Our free online academy takes that work to every player who has a phone, wherever they live.

Frequently asked questions
How do I register for the Kapil Dev Khare Memorial FIDE Rated Open 2027?
Fill in the online registration form and pay the ₹1,500 entry fee by UPI using the QR code in the form. Entries are limited to 200 players, first come, first served.
Do I need an AICF ID to play?
Yes. All Indian players need a valid AICF ID for 2026–27, which you can renew or register at prs.aicf.in. Players from other countries need a FIDE ID under their own federation.
Who can play in the tournament?
The tournament is open to all ratings, ages and nationalities. Besides the open prizes, there are prizes for rating categories (1600–1800, 1400–1599, unrated) and age categories for boys and girls.
Where is the venue, and where can I stay?
Neel Kanth Maidan, Shiv Corridor, Mela Maidan, Gola Gokaran Nath, District Lakhimpur Kheri. The railway and bus stations are about 300 metres away. Players arrange their own stay; for help, call the accommodation helpline at 8578986737 or 9455049026.
Can I play chess and solve puzzles online here?
Yes. You can play the computer at nine levels and solve rated puzzles from real games. Both are free. Sign in to save your playing rating and your puzzle rating.
Is Kapilash Chess Academy really free?
Yes. Every lesson is free to read. A free account lets you solve the exercises on the board and keeps track of your progress on any device. Create your free account.
